Golden State Sportfishing is owned and operated by Captain Joey Gamez. There are currently two boats in operation. The first is a 30′ Design Concept wheelchair-accessible boat, with a large fishing area, heated cabin, enclosed bathroom, and fully equipped with a Garmin navigational system and fish finder. The second boat is a 25′ North River Scout equipped with a 2018 250 Mercury outboard tiller with prop and jet lower unit, hummingbird Helix 12″ fish finder, custom top, and side curtains for windy or cold trips or to just get away from the sun. The boat launches daily for striper, sturgeon, and all river fishing. Bay and ocean trips are out of Berkeley Marina in Berkeley, CA, and Delta charters are out of Pittsburg Marina in Pittsburg, CA.
San Francisco’s waters offer excellent fishing for all. Our fishing charters are geared towards a fun, comfortable experience for anglers of all skills and ages. We carry a maximum of 6 passengers, guaranteeing each guest the simple luxury of elbow room and the personal attention of the captain. Trips are typically 8 hours.

Gratuity is customary and goes for ALL charter fishing boats. Just like the service staff at your favorite restaurant, a large portion of our Captain and crew’s salary comes from your generosity. Our crew works hard to provide you with the best fishing experience possible, so be sure to show your appreciation by taking care of them. Standard tips are 15%-20%, so please don’t forget to consider this as you are preparing for your charter.
